Pleasant View Communities is hosting its annual Community Day celebration on Saturday, May 16th from 11am-2pm, rain or shine! In preparation for this exciting event, we spoke with Community Engagement Coordinator Aubrey Smith to learn more about the process that goes into planning Pleasant View’s Community Day.
Aubrey has been involved with the planning of Community Day since 2014 and has taken on the role of organizer since 2019. Her favorite part of organizing Community Day is uniting the PV community, including residents, staff, their families, and members of the outside community, in one place. Aubrey has found that every year she has worked on Community Day has been memorable due to there always being something new. People may not realize that Community Day originated as a location for spring sport sign-ups in the past, which included an auction and chicken BBQ. One year included a yard sale. Though the event has looked different over the years, the main goal has always been the same. When asked about the impact of Community Day, Aubrey stated that “It brings people together – our residents, staff, community organizations – it’s fun and also purposeful as it creates volunteer opportunities and it’s a chance to show our support for other businesses, non-profits, and our local first responders.”
Local businesses and organizations that are slated to participate in Community Day include:
- Charlie’s Crusaders Pet Rescue
- Hearth and Harrow Restaurant
- Hope Served Café
- Joyful Canvas Face Painting & Balloon Art
- Kreider Farms
- Lancaster Mobile Mini Golf
- The Main Street Cruisers Band sponsored by Stray Productions
- Northern Lancaster County Police Department
- Life Lion EMS
- Penryn Fire Company
- Precious Paws Community Cats
- Twisted Sisters Ice Cream Truck
- The Unwavering Cup
Looking at this year, Aubrey is excited to add the car show to the 2026 Community Day! If you are free on May 16th, we encourage community members to join for a day of fun. There will be food, games, tractor rides, live music, animals, and more! There is no entry fee, but cash is recommended for food and vendor purchases.
