Just Off the Top of Our Head...

We’ve been around for quite some time (60 plus years) and have gone through many changes. One thing that hasn’t changed over the years is our desire to listen and help you understand our organization. These are some of the questions we remembered most off the top of our heads and answer most, but certainly, don’t hesitate to contact us for more information on any topic.

A Life Plan Community is a replacement name for the category currently called Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC).

A Life Plan Community, like Pleasant View:

  • Offers more than one level of care on a single campus
  • Focuses on an active lifestyle
  • Is integrated into the community with an emphasis on giving back and being socially responsible.

A Life Plan Community follows the definition of a CCRC as an age-restricted property that includes a combination of residential living, personal care and skilled nursing services available to residents all on one campus. Resident payment plans vary and include an entrance fee.

A Life Plan Community allows “planning” and “living” to merge, rather than being in opposition to one another. Having a plan in place—the security of the safety net provided by the availability of healthcare, coupled with the freedom from not having to manage all the day-to-day tasks that come with homeownership—allows for living life to the fullest.

The ability to move through the continuum of care offered at the community in which you live is one of the biggest advantages to planning ahead and moving to a community while you are still independent. Expertly trained team members are available to help you through the process of transitioning to an area where more care can be provided as needed.

The minimum age for residency is 60. In the case of a couple, at least one person needs to be 60, the other person must be at least 55.

Pleasant View’s apartment and cottage residents have the flexibility to dine on campus or prepare meals in their own home. There is no fixed meal plan included in the monthly fee, but residents receive a discounted rate on any meals purchased at the bistro and restaurant at Hearth & Harrow.
Meals are included in the monthly fees for Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Care residents.

The entrance fee is a lump sum of money that you use to purchase a life lease on your home in the community. Pleasant View offers three different types of entrance fee options for its apartments and cottages.

Pleasant View has established the Benevolent Care Fund so that residents of Pleasant View have comfort and peace of mind knowing that comprehensive, quality health care will continue even if their financial resources become depleted.

Those ages 30 and up can become a member of the PVFiT. Group Exercise classes are open to those ages 16 and up. Swim lessons are designed for children ages 6 months to 5 years.
