Marie Anderson is a familiar face to most at Pleasant View Communities. Always engaging in conversations with fellow residents and staff with a big smile, Marie has been part of the Pleasant View family for nearly 4 years, working as the Residential Living Program Coordinator. In this position, Marie was able to build relationships with residents, create engaging programs, and become a part of an incredible community.
Over the last few months, Marie has started in her new role as Director of Residential Living. Marie shared, “One of the things I enjoy most about my job is getting to know our residents. Every person has a unique story, life experiences, and interests that make them who they are. I love taking the time to connect with residents on a personal level, learning about their journeys, and helping them continue to enjoy a fulfilling and meaningful lifestyle at Pleasant View.”
Outside of work, family and friends are particularly important in Marie’s life. She lives in Lebanon with her husband, son Doug, and her three dogs. They enjoy spending summer days at Hersheypark, going to the pool, and spending time outdoors during the warmer months. Marie is also always open to learning new things!
Something people might not know about Marie is that her son has cystic fibrosis, which has shaped her perspective in a powerful way. It has taught her to focus on quality over quantity of life and to find joy in each day, even the challenging ones. “It is a mindset I carry with me and hope to share with my friends here at Pleasant View,” said Marie.
When asked what her favorite part of working at Pleasant View was, Marie shared that “Interacting with our residents is what makes this community so meaningful to me.” Upon stepping into this new role, she explained how exciting an experience it has been and that she truly could not have asked for a more supportive team. “I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside such dedicated, compassionate, and talented colleagues,” said Marie. “Their encouragement and willingness to work together have made this transition both smooth and rewarding.”
As she continues to grow in this position, Marie looks forward to finding new ways to support PV’s residents. She is grateful to be part of such a special community and is excited for what the future holds.
