What is Personal Care at Pleasant View Retirement Community?
Pleasant View’s Personal Care is a living arrangement providing staff availability 24 hours a day. Our staff is here to help with activities of daily living, plus medication administration, housekeeping, and provision of three balanced daily meals. Personal Care offers a variety of activities ranging from baking cookies to attending a local ballgame. We strive to continue to bring a sense of vibrancy to all.
When looking at options for Personal Care, many people choose Terrace Gardens at Pleasant View because they know they will have priority access to nursing care if or when it is needed. In addition, Pleasant View’s Benevolent Care Fund helps to assist those residents who have exhausted their financial resources, keeping the promise made by our founders to continue to provide quality care to our resident family, regardless of one’s financial position.
What is an appropriate time for a move to Personal Care?
Generally speaking, families and loved ones should begin looking into an alternative residence when:
- Mom or dad (or both) are having difficulty within their current home environment, causing safety concerns.
- Mom or dad (or both) need assistance with preparing meals, basic hygiene, and other activities of daily living on an on-going basis.
- Mom or dad begins to forget where they are and may wander in the neighborhood.
Does Personal Care Provide Assistance with Memory Loss?
Yes, Pleasant View provides dementia care for those who have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The Meadows at Terrace Gardens offers specialized programming for residents who require a more structured environment. In addition to caring for activities of daily living, residents receive support with memory and other cognitive functions. Activities are provided seven days a week, helping to engage residents in the life of the community. For more information, or to request a tour, contact our Admissions Office.
